Merriam-Webster Dictionary
Taking the first step to seeking help, whether it be for you or a loved one, can be a difficult task. I respect the courage it takes to seek help and I welcome the opportunity to help you on this journey. I provide individualized therapy to pre-teens, teenagers, and young adults.
*I am accepting new clients at this time.
You deserve to find a therapist who will listen, care, support and advocate for you. I have experience working with a variety of presenting issues including: depression and anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, substance use, grief/loss, trauma, family dynamics, relational conflict, self-esteem, eating disorders, and stress management. During your initial consultation, we will take time to discuss your desired goals and expectations for therapy.
I enjoy working with students of all ages, helping them cope with stress related to high expectations, academic demands, and emerging adulthood. If you (or your child) are under the age of 18, you will need a parent/guardian’s consent in order to proceed with therapy. During your initial consultation, we will take time to discuss in length the parameters of confidentiality and privacy that will be maintained in therapy. Because of this, I ask that the consenting parent/guardian be present for approximately 20-25 mins during our initial consultation.
I believe the relationship between the client and the therapist is a vital component to a positive therapy experience. My approach as a therapist is caring, genuine and direct. I collaborate with you to identify your desired goals and together we problem-solve ways to achieve those goals. During our sessions, I actively question, respond, and relate with you. I provide feedback when appropriate and will help you to identify patterns and behaviors that may be hindering progress. Clients who work with me tell me they appreciate my down-to-earth and relatable personality.
Coming from a strengths-based therapeutic approach, I use evidence-based interventions including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) in my work with clients. I often call upon mindfulness tools and meditative techniques to support the development of healthy coping skills.
All sessions are currently being conducted virtually using a HIPAA compliant video platform. Virtual sessions are held from the comfort of your own home at a time that is convenient for you. I work out of a private home office that has been sound-proofed to ensure your privacy.
Upon scheduling an appointment with me, you will be provided with a unique video link that is personal to you for the sole purpose of our therapy sessions. You will also be granted access to the online client portal, which allows for convenient online scheduling for active clients. Please note: initial consultations cannot be scheduled online at this time.
